Any time you apply for credit cards, a loan for a car or a mortgage, the lender will do a check on your credit rating scores to determine if your scores are high enough to qualify for credit. Credit scores are anywhere from 300 up to 800 or more, with the most common credit rating scores being in the 600s. Obviously, the lower the number the worse your credit is. The better or higher your scores are, the better the offer you'll get from the lender, whether it's for a loan or credit cards. One of the most common offers made to consumers with excellent credit is 0% introductory APR with balance transfers.
 
When looking at these offers of 0% introductory APR, it's important to read al the terms and conditions that come with these cards. Generally, those that have a high credit score are going to get the 0% introductory APR for a longer period of time. These excellent rates may go anywhere from 30 days to 18 months, with those with excellent credit rating getting the longer terms. A Balance transfer is another option offered with many cards. Balance transfer allow you to take balance off other credit cards and transfer them to the new 0% APR credit card, thus saving money on interest. This is a great way to save money as you're paying off old debts without being charged interest in the process.
 
In addition to a 0% introductory APR, consumers with excellent credit rating are also offered low interest rate after the introductory period is up, allowing you to save more money. Some of these special offers are designed for those that pay their balance in full each month. Along with the low or 0% introductory APR, special offers such as cash back and rebates are often offered. These are great offers for those that use their credit cards for large purchases and pay the balance in full. In addition to not paying interest, they are also getting a percentage of the money they've spent back in the form of cash back or rebates.
